Easter Weekend Recap - It Rained...A Lot

I don't mind the rain...especially since we REALLY NEED THE RAIN.  I think I heard that about a million times last week, so if we need the rain, bring on the rain.  *insert dramatic sigh here* but it's been raining off and on for a few days now and supposedly all this week. I am already feeling the BLAH set in or as my endearing husband described it to our son last night..."mommy gets a little crazy when she's stuck in the house with no sun..."  Usually when he says I'm being crazy my response is, "Crazy?  I'll show you crazy!"   I say it jokingly of course....or do I?  -LOL - He's right, I become insane!

Ok, on to the weekend.

Saturday

I had lunch with Casey and little Miss Avery.  She was dressed to the nines thinking her future boyfriend Christian was going to be there, but Christian's mommy needed to be able to eat her sushi in peace, so he stayed home with dad.

We tried Simply Sushi for the first time.  It was neither here nor there for me.  If I had a choice, I probably wouldn't go there again.  One of our rolls fell apart when we picked it up and the price of the rolls compared to how "complex" they were didn't coinside.  None of them tasted bad, but I also didn't think it was all that great either.  The best part of the lunch was seeing Casey and Avery.

Sunday

We stayed in town and went to our church's sister location The Springs.  Ahhhh, sounds refreshing doesn't it?  I really enjoyed it.  Katy (sister in law) and her kiddo's attend The Springs and Rigby was being dedicated this Sunday.

While they were getting the kid's from class, the pastor told a few stories about their family.  One story that just made me cry is when Katy and Ash (her oldest) were driving in the car one day and went by a football field.  All the sprinklers were on and she turned to him and said, "Remember this moment ok?"  He responded, "Remember what?"  Then she stopped the car and they both spent the next few minutes running around on the huge football field in the sprinklers.  How sweet is that?!  I love that story.

Church apparently wore Christian out.
That is what happens when you cry your little face off during Sunday school...so much so, they tapped us on the shoulder during service to come retrieve our child.    This is our fault really.  He's only around us, my parents, and daycare.  If anyone outside that group of people attempts to hold him, he bursts into tears.  This started happening around 9 months and has been going strong ever since.

We went over to Aunt Sam's for a little Easter Sunday lunch. Mmmm, grilled hamburgers and hotdogs.  You really can't get better than that...oh wait, they had peach cobbler and vanilla ice cream.

See the photo in the middle?  Christian had no clue he was standing on his own.  He was so busy messing with Rigby's head, he didn't notice Matt had taken his hands off of him.  Once he did though, he went tumbling down.  *insert second dramatic sigh here* I guess I shouldn't worry, he'll walk SOME DAY right?  I mean he won't be 5 and still crawling.
If I were to put a caption for the middle photo, it would say, "Cast out all demons...you're healed!"

Painful milestone:  Christian bit me last night and actually broke skin! He bit me once before about a month ago, but nothing compared to last night.  Once the pain receptors kicked in, my instinct was to fling off whatever was causing me pain across the room it hurt so bad.  Luckily, I screamed, jerked him off my shoulder, and set him on the floor.  Baby teeth are like little razor blades!

QuestionIs anyone planning on watching the royal wedding?  I kind of want to...you know, to see the dress.
