A Ho-Hum Day @ Work

Friday's @ work around the holidays usually means no one is here.  All the patient worker bee's that didn't spaz away all their time off are now reaping the benefits. I'm usually one of those people that gets vacation happy, but this year I had an excuse for not having any time off (except for 2 sick days...I'm choosing carefully which 2 days next month I plan on being ill) - I had a baby! All my time off went to (at the time)  a screaming baby boy...not how I would normally want to spend vacation time - being emotionally and physically broken by a newborn that is :)

So this is my cube.  Don't be jealous.  When I first started working here almost 6 years ago, I was so excited that I had my own desk and computer...I didn't care that it wasn't a "real" office, it was all mine, lol.  I still really don't mind it. Lack of drive to climb that corporate ladder? Nope, I am just happy I have a j.o.b.  I've never wanted a fancy title...maybe more $$$ but who doesn't?  :)  Is it bad to be comfortable?  I like my job, the people I work with, great vacation time, and I never take work home.

See the plant creeping over to my side?  There are a few people I work with that LOVE their plants...I get it, its a nice contrast from the gray cubicle walls we are surrounded by.  The downside?  They attract nat's...nat's that want to fly right in my eye every morning or sworm my coffee.  I have a co-worker (he shall remain nameless) that threatens to kill all the plants every Friday afternoon.  I've had to talk him down a few times.
There is also the huge collage of Christian :)  What can I say, its the best wallpaper.

When you think about it, you see your coworkers almost (if not more) than your friends and family...so you better like being there.

Thanks for your comment on my blog! This has to be the cutest blog I've seen in a while - your son is adorable!
I have a love/hate relationship with running and spend most of my days in a cubie too....looks like we have a lot in common. I look forward to following your journey!
